A collection of the best unique coffee shops and café experiences in Las Vegas… ranging from live music hip, to creatively bizarre.
When in Vegas, there is only so many things you need: a place to sleep, a place to crush cars in an army tank, and a place to get a good cup of coffee.
Alright fine, there is a lot of other stuff you need / are going to want to check out… actually I have another blog of my own dedicated to all the unique things their are to do in vegas–beyond just booze and gambling!
Anyway… whatever you decide to do with your time in Sin City, it’s safe to say that your going to need a hot cup of morning pick-me-up, which is why I scoured the city to find the must-try drink experiences–and compiled my findings as a list of the top 5 unique coffeehouses in Las Vegas.
Note: the order is my humble opinion, and isn’t based on the best “cup” of coffee, but the most unique coffee shop experience. Meaning I took into account all sorts of stuff, like: hip atmosphere, work space, live music, art, roasting, types of drink, friendliness, creative energy, and awesomeness of the food… that sorta stuff!
Tiabi Coffee & Waffles
3961 S Maryland Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV 89119
TIABI is an acronym for, “To inspire and be inspired”. It’s owners’ philosophy, and it is quickly felt as soon as you see the menu… full of waffle everything!
Seriously… from traditional breakfast style dishes, to burgers, and even a variety of “Wafflewhiches”–with plenty of vegan and gluten free options.
But you don’t make a best coffee in Las Vegas list based on your waffles, so rest assured that they also craft up a delicious variety of all your favorite coffee drinks… worth particular mention, is “Tiff’s Waffle Macchiato”.
Great place to: Sip deliciously unique hot and cold drinks, nosh waffle-inspired awesomeness for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and soak in contagious creative energy. Not really ideal for posting up on your computer for 7+ hours.
7772 W Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89117
Basically this spot has all you’d expect from a family owned and operated, small scale, local coffee roaster. They brew their own in-house roasted coffee beans, serve a variety of hot and cold drinks, and of course… are generous with doses of friendly positive-energy.
What I really love about this spot though, is the way they combine traditionally proper coffee cupping methods (seriously one of the best cups of coffee in Las Vegas), with modern creativity–case in point… the Liquid Breaking Bad served with a “meth stick”.
Great spot to: Sip on really fresh, really awesome, really happy, expertly crafted, perfect cups of coffee.
Illuminate Brew Society
6825 W Russell Rd #155, Las Vegas, NV 89118
To be honest… I would have probably put these guys on the list just based on their cool name, I mean, “Illuminate Brew Society”… how awesome is that? Hahahaha…
…But, don’t worry, these guys got a lot more then just a cool name… comfortable seating (couches!), Illuminati-inspired unique decor, high-energy indie atmosphere, and a whole mess of creative frozen drink creations to counter their traditional pours. They also got the usual coffee shop sandwich and pastry selection (bunch of different macaroons!).
Great Place to: Great place to sip classic or creative coffee drinks, in a unique atmosphere. Perfect for studying, hanging-out on the comfy couches, or discuss conspiracy theories. Not the best spot to get lunch, but plenty of light eats.
Makers & Finders
1120 S Main St #110, Las Vegas, NV 89104
This place has all the fixing of the modern hipster-loved coffee shop, with a delicious twist that makes it the perfect coffee house for the modern foodie… they serve authentic rediculously-mouth-watering Latin American comfort food!!!!!!
Alright… alright… this article is about coffee, forget the food! (seriously though, one of my favorite breakfasts in Vegas!)
So with the drool-worthy nosh, they also kill the coffee game with elite-baristas heroically crafting a variety of hot and cold drinks. Made even better by their head-spinning collection of “brew methods”, including: pour over, V60 drip, cold brew, Cuban espresso… the list goes on.
The atmosphere is about what you’d expect from one of the hippest coffee shops in Las Vegas: white, bright, wood, and very…. “Etsy-esque”.
As an added bonus their situated just spitting distance from the Art’s District… an awesome area to walk around and check out unique shops and galleries!
Great place to: sip and nosh (breakfast, brunch, lunch) in a hip atmosphere, with a great patio for hanging out. Not really a “plug-in and grind” sort of work space.
The Beat Coffeehouse & Records
520 Fremont St, Las Vegas, NV 89101
So to be number 1 on my must-do coffee list, you have to do more then just pour a good espresso… which is why I had to go with this iconic Las Vegas’s coffeehouse.
Of particular awesomeness, is the array of different artistic outlets. They have open mic, and live music, plus their attached to the Emergency Art’s collaborative (basically a huge local art gallery), and they sell records… what more could you ask for?
The atmosphere is eclectically hip, with a dive-ish indie sort of decor, and there’s this seemingly constant high-energy murmur that fills the air with contagious positivity…. making you unconsciously talk more passionately, smile wider, laugh harder, whine less, and high-five more.
For drinks and eats, they serve locally roasted beans in the usual ways… nothing crazy, but like I said, this is about more then just great coffee!
They also serve alcohol, and a variety of salads/sandwhiches/wraps… that sort of stuff.
I also gotta give them some bonus points for their killer location, nestled in between several great bars and restaurants, just a rocks throw from Freemont Street and the Container Park.
Great place to: Browse records, immerse yourself in local art, sip coffee/booze, grind on your laptop by day, and partake in live music by night.
Bad Owl Coffee
10575 S. Eastern Avenue, Henderson, NV 89052
So I just caught wind of this spot, and haven’t had a chance to go there yet, but I figure it is worthy of the list, since…. it’s a Harry Potter themed coffee shop!
It’s hard to get more unique then that…
So far social media loves them, and they are crazy Yelp-strong… but if you get out there before me, check it out and let me know how it is!
